Example of shot reverse shot

Shot reverse shot is used to show a characters facial expression or reaction to the conversation. Our shot reverse shot has been used in the dialogue while the characters are sitting at the computers.
This use of quick edits allows the conversation to flow, making it seem as though all the dialogue was filmed in one shot instead of three.

This shot reverse shot sequence was created by using the camera to look over the character's shoulder of the non speaking character, facing the character who was speaking. The camera stayed within 180 degree rule and did not cross the line so the confusion of which character was on the left and right wasn't broken. This allows a spectator to become absorbed by the dialogue instead of being disoriented if the scene was to use more camera angles and to break the 180 degree rule.
